Guest Policies

• We welcome children of all ages. Seabird has baby equipment including cribs, highchairs, well vented play tents, swings and even appropriate silicone dinnerware for the little ones. For infants, toddlers and younger children there is plenty of shade on Seabirds’ beach and the water is very shallow with little to no wave action. It’s a perfect baby beach and Mom & Dad will love it too! The stairs leading up to the main house is probably the Island’s greatest challenge for toddlers.

• The Island Home accommodates 8 comfortably. Also, the 19’ boat issued for your use during your stay at Seabird is Coast Guard approved for 6-8 people. For these reasons, we limit the number of people who can stay on Seabird.

• We are frequently asked to extend the number of people allowed. For groups who have more than 8 people, we offer (at a special rate) a newly renovated vacation home located only steps from the Seabird Key land base. This very attractive home has three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 8 with three full baths, a large kitchen, laundry room, dining room, living room and cabana room with sliding doors overlooking the pool. There are 5 Smart TV’s for the one who got sunburned and can’t go outside. The outside includes a fruit garden, gas grill, lounge chairs with umbrellas, easy, free parking, and Free Wi-Fi. This home is located on a canal front with a dock. It’s quite a nice set-up. The people staying at this mainland home can visit the Island during the day all they would like, but they must come back in to sleep with no more than 8 people on the boat.

• Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age.  Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Customer pays separate fees for additional services offered such as mid-week maid service, groceries picked up and put away, a private chef, massage therapy, babysitting, yoga lessons and fishing guides. Seabird’s concierge (Carly, 305-669-0044) can also arrange a day trip out to the famous keys sand bar for a picnic, a boat tour around Marathon’s most beautiful and unusual homes and sailboat row, or a sunset cruise right off Seabirds’ shore just for you and your guests. Practically anything can be arranged as long as you understand that these experiences come at an extra charge.

• Dogs are allowed on Seabird but must be approved in advance by management. The fee to bring your pooch is $400 and the pet owner is responsible for cleaning up after it in the yard, on the beach and in the gardens. Should your pet damage the home, boat or property in any way, the owner will be held responsible. The balance between the seabirds living on the Island and animals is delicate. If your dog is likely to aggressively chase birds, please don’t bring it along or be prepared to keep your dog in a kennel.

• Your manager and concierge are dedicated to ensuring that your stay 24/7 is more than you expected. If you are pleased with their efforts, a customary gratuity would be appreciated.
