Saturday, February 28th

Today was our travel and set up day. Our crew, production

staff and cast arrived in Marathon from around the country. We checked into our hotel, the Faro Blanco Marine Resort, which is the same place we stayed 8 years ago when Reva drove her car off the bridge. A majority of the accommodations at Faro Blanco consist of houseboats! We've been assured they don't rock too much. After everyone checked in, we were off to the island.

Shooting on an island does have complications!

The majority of today was spent barging everything over to the island. All of our lighting equipment was shipped over first, then our video equipment and finally our caterers went out to set up their mobile kitchen. This obstacle will continue throughout our stay. Multiple boats will be needed to ferry our group back and forth to the island for each day of shooting.

When we first arrived, the house was furnished Caribbean style, with bamboo sofas and nautically inspired accent pieces. We quickly transformed the house into a state-of-the-art video production center. A dining room table is supporting a bank of monitors, and the living room suite was replaced by audio console and tape machines. Makeup and hair took advantage of the natural light pouring onto the back porch and staked their claim for that space.

It's been a long day and we're all tired but we've accomplished a lot and are looking forward to our first day of shooting tomorrow. Let the fun begin!
